Iradj Esmailpour Ghouchani (Farsi: ایرج اسماعیل پور قوچانی; born 1st october 1968, Tehran) is an Iranian visual anthropologist and founder of IFEKT Institute (Institute for Ethno-psychoanalytical Art and Theater) in Germany. He has worked since 2005 on the dream culture inside Iran and Kurdistan. His major work is an online retrievable dissertation published by the library of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich: Bābā Āb Dād.

Iraj Esmaeilpour Ghoochani

From Academia.com: Dr. Iradj Esmailpour moved to Germany in 2009 after the “Green Revolution”. He currently lives in Schwäbisch Hall, Vienna, and Stuttgart. After completing his degree in electrical engineering, he worked for several years as an electronics engineer and engineer in various research and development departments in Iran. Since 2000, he has been working in the field of art and cultural science, including participating in three Mehregan festivals in Dubai with a group of dancers and actors from 2000 to 2003. Before starting his doctoral thesis at LMU Munich, he conducted extensive field research in the Kurdistan region, including weekly participant observation of Sufi rituals (dances), which are reflected in his films.
